IMAX on HULU invites you to see the world from home

July 25, 2020

I am happy to partner with #IMAXonHulu to invite you and your family to travel this summer from the comfort of your own home to the furthest reaches of space and the deepest parts of our oceans- as well as everywhere in between. Hulu is now offering a collection of IMAX is most powerful and beloved documentary films to stream any time, anywhere. I am sharing this as an #IMAXambassador and it is an #AD.

IMAX on HULU invites you to see the world from home!

Who says you can’t travel this summer?

There’s a big beautiful world out there to be explored and thanks to the beautiful cinematic imagery that the IMAX experience provides and the access Hulu is giving all of us you can enjoy the adventure to various exotic locations with heartwarming stories from your living room.

“With people at home there is an immense and growing desire for discovery, particularly for students, families and children. For years IMAX has helped share the power of the natural world and the potential of human existence, and now, together with Hulu, we can bring those incredible, enlightening experiences to millions more,” said Megan Colligan, President of IMAX Entertainment.

IMAX has produced over 75 documentaries in the many years since their first film “Tiger Child” debuted. Since then IMAX cameras have gone to space more than any human being (24 times!) and have journeyed to the farthest corners of the Earth to bring the beauty and wonder of the world and beyond in stunning images that only IMAX can provide. With voice narration by Kristen Bell (“Pandas” 2018), Chris Evans (“SUPERPOWER DOGS” 2019), Jennifer Lawrence (“A Beautiful Planet” 2016), and Tom Cruise (“Space Station” 2002), and Patrick Stewart “THE SECRET OF LIFE ON EARTH” (1996).

The next documentary film from IMAX will be “Asteroid Hunters,” narrated by Daisy Ridley.

The IMAX documentary films now showing on Hulu include:

“A BEAUTIFUL PLANET” (2016) Rated G

A Beautiful Planet is a breathtaking portrait of Earth from space. Made in cooperation with NASA, the film features stunning footage of our magnificent blue planet — and the effects humanity has had on it over time.

“PANDAS: AN IMAX ORIGINAL FILM” (2018) Rated G

Join narrator Kristen Bell in Pandas, a heartwarming story about the adventures of Qian Qian, a captive-born giant panda cub who’s destined for life in the wild.

“SUPERPOWER DOGS” (2019) Rated G

Follow six dogs and their human partners as they brave earthquakes and avalanches, protect endangered species and help people with special needs.

“DESTINY IN SPACE” (1994)

“Destiny In Space” provides an inspiring look at the challenges future generations will face in exploring the universe. For the first time on the giant screen, audiences travel outside the space shuttle as it orbits 200 miles above the Earth. Along with thrilling fly-overs of Mars and Venus, the film focuses on the dramatic partnership of humans and robots working in space.

“FIRES OF KUWAIT” (1992)

Fires of Kuwait is an eloquent visual testimony to the remarkable resourcefulness and heroism of the men and women who extinguished and controlled over 600 burning and gushing oil wells sabotaged by retreating Iraqi troops in the aftermath of the Gulf War

“GALAPAGOS” (1999)

Journey with marine biologist Dr. Carole Baldwin on an adventure to the famed Galapagos Islands.

“HAIL COLUMBIA!” (1982)

Experience one of humankind’s crowning achievements — the inaugural voyage of the world’s first space shuttle. Hail Columbia! goes behind the scenes with astronauts John Young and Robert Crippen as they prepare for their historic launch

“INTO THE DEEP” (1994)

Into the Deep takes you on a spectacular exploration of the undersea world. The film captures unique marine life and magnificent underwater vistas. Dive under the sea to the kelp forests off the southern coast of California

“JOURNEY TO THE SOUTH PACIFIC” (2013) Rated G

Jawi, a boy living on a tropical island in West Papua, encounters whale sharks, sea turtles and other creatures of the sea.

“SPACE STATION” (2002)

Travel 220 miles above Earth at 17,500 mph to experience the greatest engineering feat since landing a man on the Moon. Space Station is the story of a unique partnership of 16 nations building a laboratory in outer space — a permanent facility

“SURVIVAL ISLAND” (1995)

Penguins and sea lions migrate to South Georgia Island in spring and summer.

“THE DREAM IS ALIVE” (1985)

“The Dream Is Alive” gives the viewer an unprecedented window on board the space shuttle. Shot by 14 NASA astronauts on three shuttle missions in 1984, the film includes footage of launches and landings, satellite capture and repairs, space walks and an inside look at how the astronauts live in space. Experience the sensation of weightlessness and the splendor of Earth from 250 miles up.

“T-REX: BACK TO THE CRETACEOUS” (1998)

Dinosaurs are very much alive — at least in the mind of teenager Ally Hayden. When a museum accident transports Ally on an adventure back in time to explore the terrain and territory of life-size dinosaurs, she is thrust literally nose-to-nose with the largest and most realistic dinosaur ever to appear on a movie screen – the fearsome 20-foot tall, 15-ton Tyrannosaurus Rex, projected in IMAX 2D and 3D onto the 80 foot high IMAX screen.

“CHINA: THE PANDA ADVENTURE” (2001)

In 1936 a widow (Maria Bello) travels to China to bring the first live giant panda to America.

“HORSES: THE STORY OF EQUUS” (2002)

In this documentary, three horses that all come into the world on a single evening at the same farm — a black, a bay and a chestnut — face differing futures. All the horses are quickly sold, but each finds a different life waiting for it. The black horse flees his owners and escapes to live a free life in the wilderness. The bay horse is groomed to be a performer, to jump and prance at horse shows. The chestnut horse, meanwhile, is trained to race.

“THE SECRET OF LIFE ON EARTH” (1996)

Breathtaking in its scope, “The Secret Of Life On Earth” celebrates life from its origins four billion years ago. Brilliant use of micro, macro, and time-lapse photography, coupled with a remarkable music score, reinforces the film’s message: the beauty, fragility and interdependence of all forms of life, and our crucial role in their survival.

If you’re looking for a fun, nostalgia filled fami If you’re looking for a fun, nostalgia filled family film to go see in the theaters this weekend- look no further! “Harold and the Purple Crayon“ is a great film to take the whole family to the theater to see. It opens today, August 2! #HaroldAndThePurpleCrayon #sonypictures

Day two started back at check in with a security s Day two started back at check in with a security sweep and then off to visit Mosquito River Lagoon where we learned about the very real impact that the lack of data can have on ecosystems when it comes to unintended impact. Specifically decisions that are made by people that have impact on the environment without data to back up the restoration of the impacted areas. From there we took the bus to visit Launch Pad 40 up close(-ish) and get a look at the Space X Falcon 9 rocket on the pad ready to launch and send the PACE satellite to space. After that we went to the most unassuming building at NASA with probably the biggest impact, Hangar AE- Launch Services Program Communication Center. This is also called the Mission Director’s Center. This is what you see on TV when you see the “command” center. It is actually a series of rooms that are collection and storing data nonstop. We got a chance to practice calling the launch and toured the facility. We even saw the door that had all of the mission director patches on it! We then toured the Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum and got to see a lot of artifacts and interesting items and recreations of the history of the military operations regarding space that happened prior to the Apollo and Shuttle missions. It is also a former launch site, which means I have now seen 3 in real life. Our final stop for Day Two was at the Neil A. Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. We got to check out the emergency rocket escape vehicle called the MRAP. It is a former military vehicle that has found new purpose after being used in Afghanistan and now is used to protect rocket crews if something goes wrong during launch. As we were leaving we got to do something every single astronaut has done since the start of manned space missions: walk the ramp! This is the same ramp that all astronauts walk down to get into the transport vehicle that takes them to their rocket or shuttle. Day One recap of #NASAsocial for the PACE mission! Day One recap of #NASAsocial for the PACE mission! First, we arrived at press check in & rode the bus to our first stop of the day to spend some time in the classroom learning all about PACE! PACE stands for Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem. Then we headed to the press room & for a press conference for NASAtv with all female scientists & leaders of the PACE mission. This important open sourced data will be an amazing step towards combating climate change. Next we all took a moment to take pictures at the countdown clock & outside of the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB). This building is surprising on so many levels. One of the biggest surprises being just how big it truly is. It's sort of an optical illusion from the outside. You cannot truly process it's size until you are inside. Guess what we did next? We went inside of the VAB and geeked out of course! That was a wrap on Day One, and we were gifted admission to Kennedy Space Center, so some of us went over to visit my favorite girl Atlantis. #KeepingPACE PACE will advance the assessment of ocean health by measuring the distribution of phytoplankton, tiny plants and algae that sustain the marine food web. #NASAsocial #KeepingPACE
