Get a Sneak Peek at ‘Marvel’s 616’, Coming to Disney+ September 25th!
July 23, 2020Today, Thursday, July 23 a panel is scheduled for at 1 PM PST/3 PM EST where you can learn more about Marvel’s 616 during Comics-Con At Home. Moderated by Angélique Roché, you can tune into the stream to join directors Gillian Jacobs and Paul Scheer, and executive producers Sarah Amos and Jason Sterman as they discuss the making of this Disney+ original anthology series.
What is “Marvel’s 616”?
“Marvel’s 616” is an anthological documentary series exploring the intersection between Marvel’s rich legacy of stories, characters and creators and the world outside your window. Told through the lens of a diverse group of filmmakers, each documentary will dive into the rich historical, cultural and societal context that has become inseparable from stories of the Marvel Universe.
If you are like me and have ever wondered what it is like to be on the other side of the Marvel creative team, this is your chance to go backstage and find out about the inner workings of the House of Ideas. This show will be exclusive to Disney+ and will begin streaming on Friday, September 25. Every episode will have a special director and focus on a different part of the Marvel Universe.
Two exclusive clips have been released already and give you insight into what the show will consist of. In the first clip which comes from the first episode, you get a glimpse into Paul Scheer’s hunt to discover the “forgotten” characters of Marvel Comics! It is hilarious and I bet you too have never heard of “Type Face“!
The second clip which is from Episode 2, Sana Amanat who is a VP at Marvel Entertainment discusses the origin story of Ms. Marvel’s development within Marvel Entertainment and G. Willow Wilson being brought on as the writer and her as editor with a new vision to introduce us to Kamala Khan!
