Sonic the Hedgehog is back and ready to race to screens (and your heart) on Valentine’s Day 2020!
November 12, 2019Sonic the Hedgehog is back…
…and ready to race to screens (and your heart) on Valentine’s Day 2020!
One of the very cool and very secret things we got to experience while out in California as part of The Geekly Retreat was going out to the Paramount lot and getting to sit and watch early previews of two different movie trailers before everyone else. The first was Sonic the Hedgehog!
Admittedly, I am not major Sonic the Hedgehog fan. When I was younger my brother got to play more than I did so things like that will definitely his domain. As I’ve gotten older I have definitely grown to appreciate the game. As a mom, I’m excited that my kids get to experience things from my generation of the big screen. We have purchased all of the “retro” consoles that have come out and this is certainly something we will be seeing in theaters. Though my kids will probably not be seeing it on opening day, because this is for sure what I am taking my husband to do for Valentine’s Day! Based on the trailer I bet I will not be the only one with that idea!
“Today is the DAY! Could not be more excited to share our new Sonic with you. THANK YOU for your patience and support. This wouldn’t have been possible without the fans,” director Jeff Fowler tweeted alongside the trailer on Tuesday morning. Do you want to see the trailer that I saw? Well go ahead and click here and enjoy!
About the movie:
SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic. The film is directed by Jeff Fowler and will be released by Paramount into theaters nationwide.
