I will never forget growing up having a favorite Halloween decoration in our house. An older woman who lived down the street from us gave it to us at Sunday School one week. I thought it was the cutest. It was a toilet paper roll wrapped in orange fabric that looked just like a pumpkin. It was so cute and I have saved it for years. Now I want to share how to make this toilet paper pumpkin Halloween decor with all of you.
It is really so simple to make these pumpkins! You can make a few of them to decorate your house or even to give away to friends and family. The best thing about this decoration? No sewing!
Supplies:
20″ x 20″ Orange fabric
20″ x 10″ Green fabric
1 Toilet paper roll
Instructions:
Step 1 – Cut the fabrics to the correct sizes.
Step 2 – Place the fabric on the floor or a table, orange side down. Set the toilet paper roll in the center and wrap the toilet paper roll with the orange fabric. Push the excess fabric into the top hole of the toilet paper roll.
Step 3 – Take the green fabric and lay it out green side up. Roll it up along the short side and then fold the roll in half.
Step 4 – Stuff the green stem into the center of the pumpkin.
That’s it! Now you have an adorable and frugal Halloween pumpkin decoration for your home or for a friend. Set it on a table, the mantel or especially in your bathroom. It would be a great way to decorate your extra rolls of toilet paper in a guest bathroom.
You can keep this same roll of toilet paper wrapped as a pumpkin with the rest of your Halloween decorations for years, like I have. There is no need to unwrap the toilet paper roll or use a different toilet paper roll each year.
Y’all have probably guessed by now that I am not particularly crafty, but this one is easy peasy, fun, and functional. Who can resist that? What do you think? Will you create any toilet paper pumpkins for your house?
I love this. It is so cute and so much fun as a family activty. My teen would enjoy this.
